ilove this song.
Una hermosa canción convertida en una basura 😞
Love that reference to Kim Wilde on the lyrics ;)
Whoa, didn't know that! +J P Good to know.
You spelled "Diana Ross" wrong... ;-)
Mark Ronson? Escuchaba esto hace años! Jaja
Who said I lied?
The majority of songs have the name of the singer credited to it - and the vocalist here is Australian singer Daniel Merriweather - so why did the producer/guitarist Mark Ronson who made a cover of a Smiths' song want all the credit here with only his name and photo, without any mention of the singer's name?
The inbetweeners brought me here
But stop me... If you think that you've heard these words before
who said I lied cause I never stop me...
I’m one of the few who prefers this one verses the original
Everyone's complaining about Smiths fans whinging..however I haven't seen any doing that, lol, only people saying they are. I'm a huge Smiths fan and I think this is koool
Love this track
He showed enough respect for the original, and I'm respect him for that. But it sounds like a ready-made version for Cee-Lo Green
DJ AM brought me here!!
Great music brought me here...
Lol every one talking about versions, no one even mentioning The Supremes
Although Valerie takes a close second, this is definitely Mark Ronson’s best song.
How about giving some credit to Daniel Merriweather for singing such good vocals on this song? It's not all about Mark Ronson, you know lol~!
Love Mark Ronson voice, awesome song. Really brilliant from Dianna Ross & BAND MEMBERS not to take anything from him for using a part of THEIR song. Dianna Ross was charmed Mark used a version of her song & even supported him(set me free why don´t you baby, cause you don´t really love me, you just using me, keep me hanging on, get out my life why don´t you baby, cause you don´t really love me)
Nip tuck brought me here too
Excellent remake. Great song mark spiced it up that's all
I like both versions but Marks is better
I was delayed i was way laid.
Mark’s version is a fresh approach. Now record How soon is now
http://youtu.be/9IQLNCaeLtQ I added myself onto the song. Loved it that much. Enjoy.
The feels are strong with me right now...
MY favorite version!
Mark Ronson looks so much like my son
Inbetweeners brought me here. Love it
i'm googling "stop me" because i might just kill myself tonight
Why do I get a Prince vibe from Daniel's voice? Love it!
This is officially the coolest party we've been too
This use to be on repeat
The Inbetweeners brought me here. This oldie is such a gem.
Matt Linen's version brought me here.
My favorite Mark Ronson song!
Crybaby smith fans this is obviously an rnb influenced cover get over it.
Morrisey from the Smiths is too bad ass u just cant top that. I still say this sucks and The Smiths are and will always be da bomb.
Dis song turnt me on 2 mark.
que pinche rolotaaa
moz is gonna be so dissapointed
I think this is the song I have been looking for. I'm glad I found it.
Murdered a perfectly good Smith's song. Good God.
e che palle sono sempre l'unica che parla italiano!!!!!Comunque questa canzone è un capolavoro
Stop me oh oh oh Stop me Stop me if you think that you've heard this one before....... Cos nothings changed I still love you
A good and soulful take on a Smiths classic ( memories from my mispent youth!) And end part ( set me free)
Merriweather (& Ronson!) KILL it with this Northern Soul-ish cover!
I guess some people are just purists, but you're kidding yourselves if you think this isn't a good remake. Or maybe you just lack soul and rhythm?
The negative comments always happen on covers that become more popular than the original, especially when the original is done by very good bands. I know the smiths and had no idea they did the original to this, cause I wasn't born back then when it was popular. We cannot be negative to artist that reinvent these songs for a new generation, especially when it sounds really good. In the case of Madonna and American pie you have every right to be annoyed. Well everyone has a right to an opinion I guess, but sometimes we also feel like we cannot like covers because the originals were iconic, like Iris or Halsey's cover of Walk the line.
no love for meriweather
2 class tunes mixed
Nothing's changed. I still love you.
l love music!
I love both versions.
Please somebody Stop him, lol
How could none of you know who the SMITHS are??!! What is this world coming too> THIS GUY RUINED THIS SONG, UGG!
Lyle Cross Everyone knows about The Smiths. They are still very popular. I love them too. But this version is quite good..just my opinion.
Both versions are great but that's your opinion.
STOP DOING COVERS PLEASE
The Smiths and (Morrisey) original writers of this song is WAY BETTER< THIS SUCKS
Lyle Cross to you. I love it
I grew up with this version so I vibe with it hard but the smiths ultimately created this gem
couldn't have put it better
Just a shame the comments are full of arseholes rather than music lovers really
The video has been lost for years, if anyone finds it, post it up please!
JfnDWatchesVids It's not there!
+JfnDWatchesVids thanks dude!!!
Here ya go. http://vimeo.com/58043834
Mark gave this song flavor. The original is kinda bland to be honest. Give credit where it's due.
You are crazy.
Very much agreed with you young lady
haha fair enough, forgive me but i have to say.. you are a beautiful looking woman
+BiLL93x Lol, idk it's just not my cup of tea. 80's rock I prefer a more of A "The Clash-Rock the Casbah" kind of sound.
the original ... bland? are you mental?
The Smiths would be horrified... Why ruin this song????
Caitlyn Lawhon It was approved by Johnny Marr and Morrissey...so it's ok.
Look. These comments trashing this song version are as immature as saying this is the best version of it period. Music is subjective. I think both versions sound good in their own way. Everyone will have preferences. Let people enjoy things.
Chaos007X Yeah people are being rigid. I'm a fan of The Smiths but this is a good cover version. We should appreciate that and at least shouldn't hate whoever likes it. I like this cover song as well.
I like this song, and I like the original Smiths song. But I think you've got to give this song credit for bringing what is now a very old song into the public consciousness again, giving the Smiths version a new lease on life and a whole new load of fans. Both great but very different songs, each owes a lot to the other.
Stupid pop bullshit. Utter garbage
My best friend put me on to this song maybe 5 or 6 years ago...and i love her for it
this version is better than the smiths imo
It's an attempt. A nice tribute. Shit compared to Morrissey
Lionel Luthor i like both but this one is better, im cool
Please re evaluate your life
I like the song..
Oh fuck this is horrible!
LegitUser inbetweeners brought me here
radio class. :)
lol april fools
They ruined the song
who are the smith's? like brangelina movie?
No.Fuck no.The Smiths is the band who made the original and frankly 1000 better song.Go give it a listen, then give all their other songs a listen too.
this song always reminds me of charlotte hinchcliffe :)
+Lucía Vera Oh, I don't watch that show...love this song though!
jaja noo from the inbetweeners!! in the first episode she appears in this song plays as she walks into a party.. i wish she were my ex, she's really fit @[email protected]
+Lucía Vera Is she your ex?
The original is cool... But I like this one more :)
I had no idea this was the Smiths, I was tracking the song 'Keep Me Hanging On'... now I'm off to find The Smiths.
Part of this song is from Diana Ross & the Supreme. Diana Ross was charmed Mark used a version from the song & did not even want anything from him, it was all over the radio when I was in London, how she was even supporting him (set me free why don´t you baby, cause you don´t really love me you just keep me hanging , get out my life why don´t you baby, stop using me) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3bjMtqpGBw You Keep Me Hangin' On by The Supremes Songfacts www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=4063 Diese Seite übersetzen Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland were a big part of the Motown Sound. They not only wrote most of the hits for The Supremes, The Four Tops, .
Keep me hanging on is from the supremes back in the Motown era
Smiths version is good, but this is simply better.
+lakemaster ex The Smiths version is epic, this version as Stop Me, is barely listenable,… just techyno-pap
Nip Tuck brought me here :)
+Bruno Spano this song blaring as sean mcnamara is introduced to what it must have been like to be janet leigh in psycho. hell hath no fury like an obsessed agent spurned.
god this version blows
Pretty much he saying this girl acts like she loves him but really peanut and keeps him Around playin wit his mind and to just admit she don't really love him so he can move on. This happened to me in real life this how I know how he felt
What happened to the original video.
+rocklesson86 I found the original video on Vimeo, google it.
sucky cover version - I'll stick to original
Really like the song
Circa 2007 up the creek. No oars, then I heard this dude, jumped out of the proverbial canoe, started to swim, never stopped...this song put some sort of powder in my gun..
This song is incredible. Obviously the smiths original is one of my all time favs, but this remake is insane as well.
i just realize that Keep Me Hangin On by The Supremes it's used at the end... i was singing while i wasnt aware that I knew the lyrics
Yup. Very nicely intertwined too
If you don't like it don't listen to it myself I like all & I'm no fan of any of the artists
